Make out 2014
Some times your make-up collection gets the better of you, mine did a few years ago. I was buying all of these lovely make up, mostly MAC, goodies. Every month, collection after collection. The past year of actually in 2011-2012 I decided I had enough make up. My collection was starting to feel like a burden. I felt like a hoarder, an out of control addict, who wasn't able to stop buying.
In hindsight, I was filling a void.
But by the time I realized this, I had a make up collection by the size of a small store. For a person how only does make up on her own (face), that is too much. At least for me. I wasn't enjoying my lovely stuff, but was always trying to finish products that I didn't like as much. Which is great, but my expensive MAC lipglasses, Urban Decay eyeshadows, Chanel blush got pushed to the side and well make up doesn't last forever...
So I would like to finish and enjoy my collection before it all turns bad and I can throw all of it in the trash. Thousands of dollars, euros, pounds. I would like to have a small(er) collection which I love and enjoy and... finish up.
So I'm jumping on the Make Out 2014 bandwagon.
A lovely youtube'er PinkSoFoxy started a project for herself: Make Out 2013. She committed to a year of decluttering, selling and giving away her make-up collection. And being on an extreme low-buy. She could only buy 12 (colour) make up items for a whole year, and as I said she began to declutter and downsize all of her make up. In October she started by doing a make up inventory, where she counted all of her stuff. Wrote it down and also wrote down the ideal make up collection she had in mind. Some what of a goal, I guess.
So I am doing a Make Out 2014. On to my make up inventory *ough*
